Christy Wilhelmi is the driving force behind Gardenerd.com. Her obsession with gardening began in 1996 on the balcony
of her Los Angeles, California apartment.
She eventually became a member of Ocean View Farms Organic Community Garden in Mar Vista, California and has served on the Board of Directors for the last 9 years. She also wrote, co-directed, edited and hosted a weekly lifestyle television show, The Garden of Life: whole life wellness through gardening, fitness and food.
She has dedicated herself to the study of organic gardening and its benefits, and delights in sharing this information with anyone who will listen. She is your one-stop-shop for gardening resources and information. Services Available Classes - In formats ranging from 2-hour workshops to 4-week courses, Gardenerd covers the basics of organic gardening on a seasonal basis. Classes can be taught indoors or out in the garden; both publicly and for private groups. See Latest News for upcoming class times and locations. Coaching/Consulting - Need some hand-holding? The Gardenerd will make a house call and help sort out your garden with you. Whether you need help pruning your roses, or problem solving with your soil, Christy will leave you feeling confident and knowledgeable in as little as just one visit. Hourly rates apply.
